So I finally took my first professional step by customizing a casual, but professional Twitter. It not only looks great to me, but I do genuinely like seeing my notification count go off. I was honored to be retweeted and liked which made me think, I can get used to this. I even felt motivated seeing people tweet out inspiration quotes to bloggers/writers because we all know, it is extremely hard for writers out there. Not everyone will like your writing style and not everyone will agree with your opinions. That being said, I can’t help to feel a bit overwhelmed. I am not a social media person at all and I know it is disappointing to say so as a 19-year-old. I’ve been so hesitant to use it do to all the weirdos out there and definitely the killers. And although my new followers haven’t been aggressive or rude in any way, I felt a little intimidated by the rapidness of connecting with strangers. I’m not used to it I’m always paranoid that I might end up on the show Web of Lies. However, this is what all good writers must deal with since their main goal is for someone to look at their writing. Even though I have taken that first step by putting myself out there, and being cautious of what I tweet, I still have a lot to learn about Twitter. That being said, I know like three people might look at this and that’s okay 🙂 hi how are you? But for my writers out there, when did you feel 100% when putting your writing out there? Also, what are some of your best/worst personal experiences with either Twitter or criticism? And last but not least, what’s the best thing about Twitter for you? I’m still learning and I still want to have an open mind.
The best thing for me about Twitter has been connecting and networking with other bloggers. I have found so far my circle on Twitter has been a very positive and friendly place. I know that will not always be the case but I try to surround myself with others who have similar goals and it appears most of the value others which is important to me. Great post!
