Usually when I see another case of an innocent black man’s death, I just sigh. It has happened numerous times and the police officers usually have no justice. Then again, my social media feed usually reminds me of the case anyways and just today, I saw the full video of the George Floyd murder.
The first thing that came to my head was Eric Garner. It’s a common pattern to see police officers being so aggressive in their arrest tactic when it comes to black bodies. It’s ironic considering the black race is often stereotyped as being aggressive, yet the main aggression comes from these idiotic cops. Even after his death, the cop still held his knee on Floyd’s neck. The man is already dead, so why is this white cop, who is armed, still treating him as if he’s the aggressor?
It’s so stupid that this is a common thing, police killing black people. I say black people and not black men is because one thing the media fails to do is mention the killings of black girls. We are also oppressed by these idiotic racist a** cops which leads me to my next point. These racist cops genuinely scare me. As a person who is outspoken and who doesn’t hold their tongue when it comes to pure disrespect, it almost impossible to have a conversation with these people. Me arguing with the cops can be seen as me resisted arrest or me getting agressive and unfortunately, that’s the narrative the law is going to run with.
Even when you look at the video, Lloyd isn’t even resisting arrest. He’s literally dying and claiming he can’t breathe. Despite the cops claims that he was resisting before the video was shot, it still makes no sense to me. If someone is resisting or showing some type of aggression, you normally spray them, call for back up, etc. You don’t f****** knee their neck for six minutes straight to calm them down. And the worse part was how confident the police officers despite people arguing with them that Floyd was dead. Anything anyone said to them, they simply did not care. Pure sense of toxic masculinity, racial entitlement, racism, and disregard for minorities.
I normally don’t blog about heavy topics such as these especially because it’s nothing new. However, I have a passion for empowering black people as seen with some of my other blogs. Also, I have cousins and a brother and they may even end up being the next dead black man to go viral. Were often told as minorities to act calm but I’m tired of this bulls***. We aren’t the aggressors nor the instigators. I swear everything is pointed to us as if we are the initial problem starters. It just irks me seeing this as a pattern especially by the “justice system”.
